Lucy von Brachel is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America with a specialization in photographs and has successfully completed a 15-hour course and examination on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the Congressionally-recognized set of appraisal standards promulgated by The Appraisal Foundation.  Lucy has been working in the field of photography for more than twenty years.  In addition to her work as Associate Director of Photographs at Swann Auction Galleries, New York City, Lucy was the Collections Manager for the Department of Photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where she was responsible for the care and documentation of over 60,000 photographs, and was also Registrar at the Howard Greenberg Gallery.  Lucy holds a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design, New York City and has augmented her education with coursework in photograph preservation, collection care and technology, art law, appraisals and valuation, and library science.
